Did you know that Bridges is closely involved in the fight against food waste? In various ways, Bridges tries to be as green as possible and to contribute to a better and greener environment. One of the most important examples is the urban rooftop garden on top of the building, where the kitchen brigade grows herbs, lettuce and other vegetables.
One of the most recent initiatives in the fight against food waste, is the collaboration with Too Good To Go, that started this year. Every day, Bridges offers several ‘Magic Boxes’ in the Too Good To Go-app for a reduced price. These Magic Boxes consist of delicious, carefully selected, left-overs from the breakfast of that day, such as freshly baked croissants, daily-fresh bread, tasty jams and cakes.
Users of the mobile app can buy a Magic Box and pick them up at the reception of The Grand. This way, users get the chance to enjoy a delicious breakfast for a reduced price and Bridges contributes to the fight against food waste.
According to us a win-win situation for everyone! Curious about our boxes? Download the Too Good To Go app and try it yourself.
Recently journalist Jeroen Schutijser of radio station NOS Nederland 1 visited Bridges to find out more about the initiative and interviewed Breakfast Manager Lilian Verwer about her experience with Too Good To Go so far. On the website of the NOS you can read more about the interview and listen to the radio fragment.
